Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Vol. 23

Volume 23 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is the final volume of the series, collecting chapters 197 through 205 of the original work. In Japan during the Taisho era, the family of Tanjiro Kamado, a young charcoal seller, is slaughtered by Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of the demons, and his only surviving sister Nezuko is turned into a demon. To restore his sister's humanity and take revenge on Muzan, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps and sets out on the road to exterminate demons alongside his companions Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira and the many Hashira. After fierce battles in the Infinity Castle, the story enters its final stage in this volume: the various drugs that Tamayo injected into Muzan in advance gradually take effect, weakening the millennium-old demon progenitor step by step and driving him into a corner. At the same moment, Nezuko, transformed by the drug, is racing toward the battlefield. If Muzan can be held off until sunrise, the battle that has lasted a thousand years will end; but Muzan still lashes out in a final frenzy, and the Demon Slayer Corps pays an unbearable price. This volume includes chapters such as "Tenacity," "Before I Knew It," "The Sunrise a Thousand Years in the Making," "The Price of Victory," "King of Demons," "Let's Go Home," "Countless Arms," "A World Without Demons" and "A Life Shining Through Countless Storms," balancing the tension of the decisive battle with farewells and lingering echoes, and closing the whole work with an epilogue that spans time.
