This is volume 10 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, corresponding to the climax of the battle in the entertainment district. Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu track down the demon who has long devoured residents in the entertainment district—the courtesan Daki—and fight her alongside the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui. Daki merges with her obi sashes, each possessed of its own power, and her strength surges as she launches ferocious attacks on Tanjiro; Tanjiro answers with Hinokami Kagura, but repeated bursts push him toward his physical limit. At the critical moment, Nezuko and Uzui step in to take Tanjiro’s place at the front, and the battle with the Upper Rank demon Daki takes an unexpected turn. Meanwhile, the presence of Daki’s elder brother, Gyutaro, gradually surfaces, and the entertainment-district battle slides toward an even more perilous situation. This volume continues the series’ trademark tense combat and delicate emotional writing, portraying the coordination between swordsmen and Hashira as they learn to fight together, and depicting Tanjiro’s groping toward his own strength at the edge of his limits.
