A+X is a two-story anthology series launched by Marvel after the 2012 "Avengers vs. X-Men" event. Each issue contains two short stories: one about a member of the Avengers and one about a member of the X-Men, running until issue #18 in 2014. This is issue #14 of the series, released on November 20, 2013. The first story, titled "Baddies," is written by Max Bemis, lead singer of the band Say Anything, in his first Marvel work, with art by David Lafuente; it stars the Superior Spider-Man—then occupying Otto Octavius's body—and Magneto. What sparks fly when these two former villains team up is the highlight of the story. The second story is part two of the six-part crossover "Captain America and Cyclops" running through issues #13 to #18, written by Gerry Duggan with art by David Yardin. In the previous part, the two followed clues about the shape-shifting alien Skrulls; in this part, they obtain intelligence through a S.H.I.E.L.D. Life-Model Decoy, travel to Latveria, infiltrate Doctor Doom's castle in search of imprisoned Skrull captives, and confront Doctor Doom and his robot guards head-on. The tone blends action, suspense, and bickering comedy.
