Rurouni Kenshin: Complete Edition, Volume 16

Rurouni Kenshin: Complete Edition is a hardcover collector's reissue of Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story, the breakthrough work of Japanese manga artist Nobuhiro Watsuki. The series totals 22 volumes plus one guidebook. The complete edition includes the color pages from the original serialization, newly drawn covers, and newly added opening color artwork and character design pages, presented in a large format with newly proofread layout. The original ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 1994 to 1999 and is set in Tokyo in the early years of the Meiji Restoration: Himura Kenshin, once known as the "Hitokiri Battosai" who struck terror into the Kyoto of the late shogunate, wanders after the new government's founding with a reversed-blade sword not meant to kill, settling at the Kamiya Dojo and facing the grudges left by the old era alongside Kamiya Kaoru and his companions. Beyond its passionate duels, the work repeatedly asks the question "the sword is a weapon, and swordsmanship is a technique for killing"—can a swordsman who has killed countless people use the same blade to protect others? This is volume 16 of the series; the Chinese edition is published by Tong Li Publishing and is one of the volumes in the "Rurouni Kenshin Complete Edition" that readers know and collect.
