Summary
This volume is issue #6 of the sixth volume of Nova, launched in 2015. This volume is written by Sean Ryan with line art by Cory Smith, continuing the setup of the "All-New, All-Different Marvel" era: Arizona teenager Sam Alexander inherits the Nova helmet after the disappearance of his father, Jesse Alexander, and balances attending high school with serving as an Avenger defending Earth, while often being swept into cosmic events involving the entire galaxy. In previous issues, a man claiming to be Jesse Alexander returns to Earth and lives with Sam's family; father and son fight side by side wearing the Nova helmet, enjoying a rare stretch of father-son time. But Sam gradually senses something is wrong and begins to investigate the true origins of this "father." In this volume, Sam finally learns that the man is in fact an impostor of his father; the truth forces him back into space and plants the seeds for Nova's subsequent cosmic adventures. This volume is a mid-series installment tightly connected to those before and after; readers are advised to read issues #1 through #5 in order to fully grasp the impostor storyline. This is the sixth volume of the series.
