Vote Loki Vol. 4

This is the fourth and final issue of the four-part Vote Loki mini-series, released by Marvel on September 21, 2016, under the story title "Vote Loki (Part Four)." With the election campaign in its final stretch, Loki's popularity has soared to its peak, yet Nisa Contreras, a reporter for the Daily Bugle, still refuses to believe in him. To her dismay, even her own mother has become a Loki supporter. During a live television broadcast, an assassin capable of transforming into a bomb attacks Loki, only to be hurled high into the air by Angela, thwarting the assault. Angela later arranges to meet Nisa, appearing alongside Jane Foster, the Mighty Thor: Angela has been infiltrating Loki's organization to secretly oppose his candidacy, and in an old Hydra stronghold she has found evidence revealing that the group's leader is none other than Loki, disguised as the reporter "Lucas." Nisa makes her investigation public, sparking clashes between supporters and opponents that unsettle even the God of Stories himself. On the eve of the election, Congress rushes through a bill restricting presidential powers, and the stock market falls amid fears of a Loki victory. Loki visits Nisa, claiming he never wanted to sow chaos and offering to speak the truth publicly to calm the situation. He brings Nisa to a supporters' rally, but she insists that the supporters ask their own questions. On issues such as healthcare, the supporters bicker among themselves, and Loki admits he holds no position on any issue, deeply disappointing those who merely wanted someone to "fight the other half of the country on their behalf." A single line—"You lied to us. You said you were different"—lays everything bare. Loki ultimately loses the election, and Nisa becomes a hero; Loki comes to her door to tell her that all of this was, in fact, an elaborate "apology" he orchestrated for having destroyed her home years ago.
