Vote Loki Vol. 3

This volume is issue #3 of Marvel's 2016 four-issue limited series Vote Loki, written by Christopher Hastings and drawn by Langdon Foss, released August 3, 2016, with a cover date of October 2016. The story continues the main thread of "the God of Lies runs for President of the United States" and follows Daily Bugle reporter Nisa Contreras's pursuit of the truth: she tries to investigate the Hydra member who attacked the presidential debate, later fell into a coma, and was being transported under guard, only to find the transport vehicle destroyed en route with everyone aboard dead, and to see Angela—Loki's sister and the campaign's head of security—at the scene, leading her to suspect the attack was staged all along. Meanwhile, Loki is invited to debate on the same stage as the Republican and Democratic candidates. Latvia has fallen into turmoil after Doctor Doom's downfall; the other two candidates advocate military intervention, while Loki responds with a posture of "peace and diplomacy," casting himself as the anti-war side. Nisa travels to Latvia, infiltrates the "New Prosperity Alliance of Latvia" faction, and sneaks into Doctor Doom's castle; they clash with the "Children of Doom" occupying the castle, and then a massive explosion engulfs both sides—and Nisa photographs the true author of the blast: Loki himself. The scandal makes the news, and the media accuses Loki of faking anti-war sentiment while carrying out vigilante violence, yet his supporters only grow more devoted to him. This volume is issue #3 of the series' four issues and the most politically satirical and tense link in the whole series.
