Superboy #3 was released on November 9, 2011. It is the third issue of the Superboy series following DC's "New 52" relaunch, written by Scott Lobdell, penciled by R.B. Silva and inked by Rob Lean. In the story, Superboy (Kon-El) is dispatched by the secret organization N.O.W.H.E.R.E. to quell a riot of alien prisoners; but his power causes the entire prison to collapse on top of him. Amid the ruins he encounters a mysterious and beautiful alien woman who may be able to help him escape, though whether she is willing to lend a hand remains uncertain. Meanwhile, Superboy's handler Rose Wilson is about to discover that she has a connection to her "assignment" far beyond what she imagined. This issue continues the New 52 Superboy premise of a "manufactured weapon": he is a clone bred by N.O.W.H.E.R.E., immensely powerful yet ignorant of his own origins, wavering between obeying orders and questioning himself. As an early transitional issue in the series, it lays groundwork for later crossover events such as "The Culling."
