Marvel Divas was a four-issue limited series published by Marvel from September to December 2009, written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa with interior art by Tonči Zonjić, centered on four second-tier heroines who had previously had almost no connection: Angelica Jones, the Angel known as Firestar; Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat; Patsy Walker, Hellcat; and Monica Rambeau, Photon/Spectrum. Set in New York, it ties their loves, friendships, careers, and illnesses into a single thread and has been called the Marvel Universe's Sex and the City. This volume is issue #4 of the series (the finale, "Hell Hath No Fury…"), released on October 28, 2009. In the preceding story, Firestar is diagnosed with cancer caused by her radiation powers, and Hellcat's ex-husband, Daimon Hellstrom, the Son of Satan, offers to cure Angelica in exchange for one night with Patsy in Hell—she agrees, not knowing that it is always night in Hell. In the finale, Angelica finds that her illness has miraculously healed, but her friend Patsy has disappeared from the hospital, leaving only a line on her laptop begging for help: Daimon has taken her to Hell again. The three friends turn to the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Voodoo, Jericho Drumm, for help; in desperation Monica grabs his auctioned "monkey's paw" and makes a wish, and the group is sent straight to Hell. They storm Daimon's castle and learn that the demon's real reason for his anger is that Patsy's bestselling autobiography barely mentions him. In the end, Patsy buys her freedom by agreeing to add two chapters about him to the paperback edition, while Daimon withdraws Angelica's treatment; back on Earth, Angelica is told that her cancer is in remission but that she still needs chemotherapy and may still relapse. Meanwhile, Black Cat strikes a deal with the Kingpin, secures funding to open her own Cat's Eye Investigations, and has a final farewell with her ex-boyfriend Thomas Fireheart, the Puma; Monica ends her entanglement with Doctor Voodoo. The four raise a glass in the attic and toast their friendship.
