Marvel Divas Vol. 2

Summary
This volume is issue #2 of Marvel's four-issue 2009 limited series Marvel Divas (published August 12, 2009), written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, drawn by Tonci Zonjic, with a cover by Patch Zircher. The series centers on four Marvel women who originally had nothing to do with one another: Angelica "Firestar" Jones, Felicia "Black Cat" Hardy, Patsy "Hellcat" Walker, and Monica "Photon" Rambeau. The story is told largely through Hellcat's eyes, weaving superhero battles together with the women's romantic lives and their everyday friendship; the author has described it as "a Marvel Universe homage to Sex and the City." In this issue, after the "shocking truth" revealed in the previous installment, Firestar seeks help from Dr. Stephen Strange about her health, which paves the way for the arrival of another "diva," Night Nurse; meanwhile, Photon and Hellcat are drawn back into their old lives by former lovers Brother Voodoo and Daimon Hellstrom, and Black Cat weighs whether to return to a life of crime. Note that this volume is the second issue of the series (a single issue), not the complete four-issue collection; the full storyline requires issues #1, #3, and #4.
Editor's review
Who it's for
A good fit for
Not a good fit for
Reading tips
FAQ
