Death of Hawkman Vol. 6

This is the final issue of the six-issue limited series Death of Hawkman, subtitled "Out of Time, Part 6: Blood and Metal," published by DC Comics on March 1, 2017. The story erupts on the planet Rann: Rannians and Kanjar Ro's people, mentally controlled by Despero, form a great army that strikes at Rann's defenses, while Despero schemes to open a Zeta Beam passage to send his army to Earth. Adam Strange must destroy the Zeta portal, while Hawkman Katar Hol faces the Nth Metal-enhanced Despero alone. In the fierce battle, Katar pours out all the Nth Metal in his body, transforming it into a lethal projectile weapon that grievously wounds his opponent, at the cost of exhausting his own life force. The Zeta portal finally explodes, sweeping up Katar, Despero, and Adam together, and all three are at first presumed dead. The epilogue reveals that Adam is trapped in the runaway Zeta Beam and cast into an unfamiliar dimension; Despero rebuilds his body at the edge of the universe with the help of Nth Metal; and of Hawkman only a skeleton and his iconic helmet remain. Rann and Thanagar, witnessed by the Green Lantern Corps, reach a peace agreement, closing out this crisis that spanned the stars. This is Volume 6 (the finale) of the series, 32 pages.
