Death of Hawkman #4

This volume is issue #4 of DC's six-issue limited miniseries Death of Hawkman (2016–2017), originally titled "Out of Time, Part 4: Retribution (and Other Catastrophes)," first published in English on January 4, 2017. The story picks up from the previous installments: Hawkman Katar Hol and Adam Strange discover that the villain Despero is scheming to seize Zeta energy, and if he succeeds, hundreds of thousands of Rannians could die. Following the trail to Despero's homeworld Kalanor, they find that its inhabitants—and Despero himself—have vanished. Meanwhile, the Rannian people, driven by hatred and grief, prepare to attack Rann, and the seemingly dead Sardath is in fact still alive, forced under Despero's mental control to build a giant Zeta Beam device. That device is ultimately used to extract the N-metal core from Rann's moon, which shatters and rains debris down on Rann, causing massive destruction to its cities and people, while Despero, now empowered by N-metal, declares himself "immortal." This issue is the turning point of the series: the conflict escalates from a feud between two peoples into a cosmic-level threat posed by Despero alone, setting the stage for the desperate counterattack in the final two issues. Chinese online versions usually appear as "Death of Hawkman Chapter 4."
