Summary
Feeding Gods is a long fantasy novel by the web author Shi San, serialized on Qidian from May 2007 and completed that December; it runs about 1.42 million characters in 383 chapters across two volumes, "Conquering Geluya" and "The Other Shore Flower of the Luo River." The title states the premise: "Feeding gods means cultivating gods." In this world, humans merge with phantasmal beasts called "guardian beasts" to become "guardian beast warriors"; a beast's innate aptitude determines the warrior's power ceiling, so "guardian beast breeders," who specialize in cultivating beasts and raising warriors' levels, become a rarer and more sought-after profession than warriors. The protagonist, Wei Momie, is an ordinary young man from Earth who is abducted by aliens, falls to the Yama Wasteland of the Divine Multitude Continent in a space-jump accident, and carries several "medium-touch viruses." The first virus, transmitted through red ants, gives him the brute strength and endurance of a humanoid ant; with this ability he survives alone in the wasteland, hunting beasts such as the elephant-nosed rhino, and is later mistakenly captured by an adventurer squad as an "intelligent beast," allowing him to enter human society and settle in the Heluo Shrine under the identity of a "great sage," starting as a breeder at the bottom. His creed: to cultivate others into gods, one must first cultivate oneself into a god. Using the "Luo River Heart Sutra" and the "crystal flow" cultivation method, he advances through viral modification, guardian-beast fusion, and feeding-phase promotion, gradually restructuring the shrine's power structure, and establishes himself through events such as conquering the Geluya orc tribe, thwarting the Water Spring Shrine's schemes, and defending Tunhai City. Volume two turns to larger-scale political maneuvering and civilizational confrontation; he becomes the first "feeding-director-level breeder" to appear in five hundred years, is drawn into conflicts among the five great shrines, the sea clans, and even the "primordial gods," and later enters the interstellar dimension to face the place where the beast god is sealed. The book centers on the shift from "those who believe in me gain eternal life" to "those who believe in me become gods," turning cultivation, contracts, faith propagation, and leveling into a self-contained "god-making" story.
Editor's review

Reading tips
FAQ
