Uncanny Avengers Vol. 2 is a Marvel series written by Rick Remender and drawn and colored by Daniel Acuña, part of the "All-New, All-Different Marvel" era, with its central arc titled "Counter-Evolutionary." The plot revolves around Counter-Earth, where the evolutionary fanatic the High Evolutionary, Herbert Wyndham, has bred animal-derived "New Men" and continually culls what he deems imperfect creations, replacing them with "more perfect" ones. The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver come here to investigate the mystery of their parentage—after the Axis event they learned that Magneto is not their father, and they seek the truth from the High Evolutionary in person. Members of the new "Unity Squad" recruited by Rogue are also scattered across Counter-Earth's cities: Sabretooth, unwilling to hurt anyone after his personality inversion in Axis, is nonetheless gravely wounded by the High Evolutionary, while Doctor Voodoo is drawn to the Council of the Unsettled Dead and forced to listen to the souls lost in past extinctions. The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are rescued by the rebel Low Evolutionary faction, and the High Evolutionary plans to send Luminous to kill its "brothers and sisters." This volume is issue 2 of Uncanny Avengers Vol. 2, the second part of "Counter-Evolutionary," continuing from issue 1.
