Summary
This volume collects issue #4 of Uncanny Avengers (2013), originally titled "Thunder," written by Rick Remender and drawn by John Cassaday. It is the closing chapter (part four of five) of the "Red Shadow" arc and a milestone conclusion to the opening "Unity Squad" storyline that followed Avengers vs. X-Men. The Red Skull, having gained formidable telepathic powers from Charles Xavier's brain, stokes ordinary New Yorkers' fear and hostility toward mutants and leads the S-Men in continuing his plan; Thor, now under mind control, turns against his former teammates. In the battle, the Scarlet Witch and Havok (Alex Summers) join forces to face the God of Thunder head-on, while Captain America confronts the Red Skull's psychological assault. Interwoven with the action is a memory of the Summers family's plane crash during an Alaska vacation, when young Scott gave his parachute to his brother. The fighting ends with the Red Skull's escape, and a flash-forward at the issue's end to a post-apocalyptic scene three months later hints at greater threats to come, including the future Watcher, the Apocalypse Twins, and Kang the Conqueror.

作为雷曼德与卡萨迪合作的“团结小队”开篇弧线的收尾期，第4期把人类与变种人的对立推到台面上来：红骷髅用泽维尔的大脑操控人心，托尔反手打向队友，绯红女巫和哈沃克硬着头皮顶上。这一册的好看之处在于动作戏和人物动机并行：绯红女巫背负《复仇者解散》与M氏家族的旧账，哈沃克第一次被推到领袖位置上，美国队长在意识形态层面与红骷髅对峙。页末闪前到三个月后的末世画面，一口气抛出天启双胞胎、康与不死者等后续线索，让这条主线有了更大的纵深。如果想看漫威2012年“MARVEL NOW!”时期复仇者与X战警合流的起点，这一本不能跳过。
