Thunder Scar

Thunder Scar is an otherworld-continent web novel by the Chinese author Gao Sen. It began serialization on Qidian Chinese Network on February 23, 2009, and was completed on March 9, 2010. About 578,700 characters long and 154 chapters, it is divided into four volumes. The story follows Lin Ke, a lightning-element warrior, and his companions as they battle powerful enemies in another world and explore the nature of power. Centered on Lin Ke's unique electromagnetic abilities, the work combines science-fiction-flavored concepts such as electronic pulses and plasma weapons with a magic system and Eastern martial arts, building an imaginative high-concept combat system. The plot starts at a special-amnesty training camp, goes through hellish wartime trials, and eventually becomes entangled in confrontations in the divine realm; through teamwork and character growth, it explores the meaning of power and the belief in survival. The book also depicts a diverse ensemble including mixed-blood elves and a mechanical girl, with a worldview spanning electronic science, magic, and martial arts. In 2009, Mingxian Culture published a physical edition in 11 volumes, to which this entry corresponds.
