Steel Fist

Steel Fist is one of the representative early "otherworld continent" power fantasies on Qidian, and author Gao Sen excels at turning simple, brutal combat thrills into chapter-by-chapter hooks. Its worldbuilding skeleton is uncomplicated—warrior's heart, rigid hierarchy, lords whose standing rests on warrior numbers—yet within that blunt frame the author spreads out a whole geography and web of factions: cities, wilderness, the Ant Clan, the Dark Clan, Sky City. The protagonist is handled just right for the genre: crushed to rock bottom by his family, he rises again on sheer grit, winning fights without fancy forms, one punch to settle matters, with virtually no barrier to reading. At 920,000 characters and 238 chapters, it ends cleanly, free of the flab and botched endings common to sprawling serials, and suits a single binge read. The opening—family oppression and starting over after losing the warrior's heart—is the book's most classic stretch, while the mid-to-late expansion of the setting and the Sid storyline will appeal more to readers who enjoy seeing the worldbuilding refreshed. One caveat: this is a pure male-oriented hot-blooded power fantasy, light and blunt in language, not aiming for polished prose or deep exploration of human nature; readers seeking literary quality should judge for themselves.
