Summary

Red Dragon is a 1981 novel by Thomas Harris and the opening work of the Hannibal series. FBI agent Will Graham is gravely wounded while hunting a killer nicknamed the Cannibal, and retires for three years, living almost as a recluse. Then two families are brutally murdered on successive full-moon nights, the killer targeting households with a calm, ritualistic method. With the next full moon approaching, Jack Crawford, who leads the case, comes to Will again and asks him back.
