Volume 9

13 is a twelve-volume collection series of American and European superhero comics, and this book is Volume 9 of the series. Judging from clues in the same catalog (Marvel comics collections, Superman, Smallville Season 11, Superman: The Complete 11 Episodes), the series focuses on American superhero comics, and its readership leans toward fans familiar with the characters and ongoing series of the two major publishers, Marvel and DC. As is common with collected editions, each volume generally centers on one protagonist's thread or one thematic story line, balancing the experience of continuous reading with the readability of a single volume. This is Volume 9 of the 13 series, suited to readers advancing in volume order: by this point the character relationships and earlier plot threads have been laid out in the preceding volumes, and this volume continues that continuity while providing the necessary exposition of its main line at the opening. Because reliable sources for the specific works collected in this volume, the creators, and the table of contents could not be verified, this page does not describe the individual volume's plot, characters, or corresponding original issue numbers; readers who need to confirm the contents should refer to the copyright page, table of contents, and official publisher information of the physical book. If you are new to this collection and have only this volume, you can also read it as a standalone story: first skim the table of contents and the opening pages to understand the volume's protagonist and background setting, then follow the panel rhythm; afterward, if the earlier or later story interests you, fill in the surrounding volumes.
