Volume 1

This is Volume 1 of a twelve-volume collection. According to the table of contents, the series is a DC superhero comics collection tied to Superman and to the comic continuation of the TV series Smallville. Smallville aired in the United States from 2001 and followed Clark Kent's coming of age in the Kansas town of Smallville before he became Superman, as he and those around him faced various strange events; the show ran ten seasons and ended in 2011. DC Comics later continued that world in comic form with a series readers call "Season 11," picking up the timeline where the show left off and tracing Clark's gradual path toward becoming Superman. As the opening volume of the collection, this book typically introduces the main characters, establishes the background and premise, and sets up later conflicts, making it an easy entry point for new readers. Note that verifiable public sources confirm only the series' general subject and origins; the specific issues collected here and the plot details cannot currently be confirmed. The above is a cautious introduction based on the series background; this is Volume 1 of the series and does not equal the complete set.
