This issue (Mighty Avengers 2013 series #8, released March 12, 2014) is written by Al Ewing and drawn by Valerio Schiti, and serves as the conclusion and turning point of the "Family Bonding" storyline. On one hand, the struggle between White Tiger Ava Ayala and the "Jade Tiger God" within the amulet is finally resolved: trapped within the deity's will, Ava confronts it directly and, through sheer will, reclaims control of her body—though she thereby earns the undying enmity of this ancient god. On the other hand, Spectrum (Monica Rambeau) and She-Hulk join Blue Marvel Adam Brashear in a global operation against the W.E.S.P.E. organization, which appears alongside the "drone portals," and its spokesman "Doctor Positron." In battle the truth emerges: Doctor Positron is none other than Adam's son Max Brashear, and everything he has done is to bring his brother Kevin (the third Brashear child), trapped in the "Neutral Zone," back to Earth. The story unfolds between Adam's undersea base "Kadesh" and the distant Neutral Zone, with father-son conflict and family fracture forming the true emotional core of the issue. On the team side, Luke Cage, Power Man Victor Alvarez, and other members all appear, and Victor briefly attempts to contact Wiccan and other young heroes. This issue both pays off the earlier White Tiger thread and opens a new chapter for the Blue Marvel family.
