Summary

This volume is issue #6 of the Uncanny Avengers (2013) series and part 1 of the "Apocalypse Twins" storyline. Published by Marvel on April 10, 2013, it was written by Rick Remender, with Daniel Acuña taking over as regular artist from this issue. The main story jumps from the present back to the eleventh century: Apocalypse hunts the Avengers' ancestors in an attempt to erase the team at its root, and only the young Thor, not yet worthy to lift Mjolnir, can stand in his way. Thor's father Odin, the guardian Heimdall, and the ram that follows Thor all appear in this episode, and Thor's first clash with Apocalypse is its centerpiece. Meanwhile, Rama-Tut (Kang) pulls strings behind the scenes; the prophesied "Apocalypse Twins" of the future are tied to this timeline, and the battle in the past will shape the course of the entire Marvel Universe. This issue opens a long story arc spanning a thousand years.

Editor's review

Who it's for

A good fit for

Not a good fit for

Reading tips

FAQ
