Summary

Meanwhile, the story's larger scope unfolds in the realistic dimension: the great powers restrain Huaxia through financial and military means, the sorcerer bloc and the residual theocracy of the True Lords wrestle at the level of national destiny, and civilizational survival and technological ethics constitute the book's underlying deep themes.
