Star Gate

Star Gate is a long fantasy novel by Old Eagle Eats Little Chick, a platinum author at China Literature, serialized on Qidian from July 19, 2021 to its conclusion on May 20, 2022, totaling about 6.4782 million Chinese characters. Set in a "high-martial world," it revolves around Li Hao, the last heir of the Gate-Guarding clan: ages ago, the Star Gate was sealed by a mighty figure and suppressed deep in the starry sky; as time passed, the seal's power faded, the one who sealed it was long gone, and the Gate-Guarding clan that stayed behind has all but perished. As the last blood heir of that clan, Li Hao starts out in Silver City and, through his experiences in the Inspection Bureau and the Demon-Hunting Squad, gradually enters the world of martial artists and superhumans, seeking the truth of his ancestors' disappearance and asking whether the Star Gate behind it all means salvation or catastrophe. The stage expands from Silver City and Silver Moon Province to the Tianxing Dynasty and the vaster realm of Chaos, laying out two parallel power systems—the New Martial realms and the superhuman system. It offers both the gratifying vengeance and marketplace bustle of a martial-arts tale and struggles and choices that span planes of existence. The book concludes Old Eagle Eats Little Chick's High-Martial Trilogy (Global High-Martial, Tribulation of Myriad Races, Star Gate), echoing the earlier works in characters and worldview; during serialization it broke Qidian's monthly ticket record and its reader community approached five million. There is no official print edition; it circulates mainly through web serialization, an audio drama, and a comic.
