Summary
Nova Vol. 31 is the final issue of the 2013 Marvel series Nova, written by Gerry Duggan and drawn by David Baldeon and others. The protagonist of this volume is Sam Alexander, the second Nova after Richard Rider, a teenager from a small town whose father once told him stories of the Nova Corps; he later inherited the helmet and became this young hero. In this issue, Sam's hometown and Earth face a threat from space: the Chitauri drop meteors, Nova takes off alone to intercept them, and allies including the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers arrive to help, allowing him to break away and pursue the enemy leader, Warbringer; the fight ends with Sam hurling his opponent into the sun. After the enemy surrenders, the imprisoned captives are released, including Sam's father, and the family is finally reunited. At the end, Warbringer reappears gravely wounded and vows revenge on Nova, leaving a thread for later stories. This is the 31st issue of the series and the closing chapter of this volume.
Editor's review

Reading tips
