This volume is issue #29 of Nova (NOVA), the series launched in 2013. The series follows Sam Alexander, a teenager from a small town in Arizona who inherits the helmet of his father Jesse Alexander, a former Black Nova, and thereby becomes a member of the Nova Corps, serving across the stars as the Human Rocket. Unlike the original Nova, Richard Rider, Sam's story centers throughout on how a young man shoulders cosmic duties while dealing with family, school, and growing up, and he later becomes an important member of the Avengers and the Champions. Issue #29 picks up right after the Black Vortex crossover: Sam returns to Earth after the space event, but trouble lands on Earth with him. According to the original solicitation, the issue is written by Gerry Duggan with art by David Baldeon. This is the 29th volume of the series, consisting of a single regular issue; the characters and plotlines are relatively self-contained, so it is best read in series order and should not be treated as a complete story on its own.
