Thereafter he leaves his native Jiangbei: a northern mountain stronghold is destroyed, he makes his name in Hongcheng as the "demon blade," and becomes the honored one of Jiangbei; he joins the Qianyuan Sect and receives personal instruction from a sage, storms the Yuanwu Hall, comprehends the laws of water and void, and tempers his spatial domain in the Kehe region; in the contest of the Source Realm he ranks in the top ten and becomes a disciple of the Lord of Arms. As his footprints spread from one domain to the heavens, he breaks the Sigh of Gods and Demons, treads the wild lands, storms the secret realm of the Heavenly Emperor, and crosses the boundaries of realms, step by step breaking free from being "a pawn controlled by others," until at the summit of the Boundary Sea he faces the supreme lord of the Heavenly race, cuts off the supreme lord's head with one blade, opens a perfect universe, and establishes the name "Heavenly Emperor of Cold." The book's spiritual core is "sunk for ninety thousand years, a life without regret," shaping a legendary protagonist in whom the cold blade and tender heroism coexist.
