Summary

Tianjian Lun is one volume in Bu Feiyan's fantasy wuxia series Huayin Liushao. The story follows Mantuluo and is set in a fictional Tibetan snow region and the Brahma deity hall, weaving together Shiva and Mara from Indian mythology with the conflicts of the Eastern jianghu. A fearsome power appears in the Leshenglun Palace: Dijia has finally found the maiden Xiangsi whom he has long sought, and only one last step remains before he can complete the ritual to become either a demon or a god; the palace's Peacock Array is intricate and bewildering, the eight-petaled flower blooms uncannily, and the power to destroy the world awaits its final awakening. Outside the palace, Zhuo Wangsun travels a thousand li to bring his beloved back from this sacrifice; below the snow mountains and beside the sacred lake, Yang Yizhi, having fathomed the Brahma precious scroll, hastens to protect the living and fights alongside the others to hold on. One choice Xiangsi makes in the Dance of the Heavenly Demon is said to have been determined long ago, during austerities on a snowy peak ten million years past, and thus becomes the key that turns the contest between gods and demons. The book is built around the confrontation of two heroes and unfolds amid religious prophecy, cyclic fate, and love and redemption, continuing the author's gorgeous, eerie style and lush language. The commonly seen edition of this volume is the 2009 Wanjuan Publishing Company edition; there is also a 2006 New World Press edition titled Huayin Liushao zhi Tianjian Lun.

Editor's review

FAQ
