Daredevil Vol. 31

This volume is issue 31 of the 2011 Daredevil V3 series by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee (published by Marvel in September 2013). The story begins with Foggy Nelson leading a cancer support group in a hospital, carrying a T-shirt printed with the Daredevil logo and telling the group that fearlessness is contagious. Then a controversial case is decided: a woman accused of stalking and shooting a Black teenager is acquitted, a case that echoes real social divisions. After the trial, prosecutor James Priest, in a live television broadcast, appears to reveal the names and addresses of the twelve jurors and incites the public to take the law into their own hands; but Matt Murdock, with his extraordinary hearing, perceives that the audio has been replaced and that both the broadcast signal and the soundtrack have been hijacked. The mastermind is the racist organization Sons of the Serpent, which has hired the Jester, John Powers; they use the aftermath of the case to ignite riots across the city. Daredevil pursues the real culprits while trying to calm the unrest, but stretched too thin, he contacts Hank Pym for help, having swarms of flying ants seed the clouds with chemicals to create artificial rain and disperse the crowds. This volume also introduces Matt's new law partner Kirsten McDuffie and Foggy's illness storyline; it ends on a cliffhanger: Matt arrives at the address the Jester left and, in a dim rowhouse, finds a hanged body wearing a Daredevil T-shirt.
