Avengers Vol. 7, Book 1

This volume collects issue #1 of Marvel's Avengers Vol. 7, first released on November 2, 2016, as one of the launch titles of the "Marvel NOW!" (2016) relaunch. It is written by Mark Waid, primarily drawn by Mike Del Mundo, with a cover by Alex Ross. The story follows Civil War II: the Avengers roster has been badly fractured, with Nova, Miles Morales Spider-Man, and Ms. Marvel leaving one after another, leaving the team severely weakened. Those who remain—Captain America (Sam Wilson), Thor (Jane Foster), and Vision—join forces with returning Hercules, the new Wasp Nadia Pym, and Peter Parker's Spider-Man, who provides funding and equipment, to form this new "Earth's Mightiest Heroes." In the opening, the Nordic frost wolf Hræsvelgr? appears in Central Park, and the Vision-less team struggles in battle; soon after, two "Nathaniel Richards" from different timelines—Kang the Conqueror and the Scarlet Centurion—appear at once, demanding to know where Vision has hidden "their infant selves." This sets up the volume's main arc, "Kang War": Vision once took the infant Kang from the past and erased his own memories of it, and the chain reaction across the timeline has only just begun, with history itself now in danger. This is Book 1 of the series, collecting the main story from issue #1.
