Principles

Summary
What makes it rare is its candor: the author includes the days around 1982 when he nearly lost everything and had to borrow money from his father, and uses that as the starting point for explaining where principles come from. There is no need to copy it wholesale, because Dalio repeatedly stresses "forming your own principles." The book's five hundred-plus principles are like a toolkit that readers can draw from as needed, or they can read only the life principles section.
The 2018 edition published by CITIC Press, translated by Liu Bo and Qi Xiang, is the most widely circulated; the hardcover layout is clean, the principle list in the appendix is convenient for repeated reference, and it has long ranked among the top in print runs. It is suitable to keep close at hand and flip through once a year, comparing it with your own judgments and reflections over the year.
