Official Etiquette

Summary
Editor's review
The book's most notable value lies in its "situational" approach—the author consistently stresses that the core of etiquette is "respect" and "appropriateness" rather than rigid dogma. In the chapter on foreign etiquette, for instance, he not only introduces international conventions but also explores how to flexibly adjust strategies in different cultural contexts, reflecting etiquette wisdom with a global vision. The treatment of high-frequency daily matters such as telephone etiquette, email norms, and seating arrangements is especially incisive, addressing the real pain points in officials' work.
It is worth noting that although the book is titled "official," its insights into the art of communication and image management are instructive for any modern person who participates in formal social occasions. Jin's fluent, humorous style dispels the dullness of etiquette books, making the act of reading itself a form of etiquette cultivation. As a classic long-selling title from Huawen Publishing House, its content has stood the test of time, and in today's increasingly digital interactions, its early discussion of "online etiquette" appears all the more forward-looking.
