Summary
This is Volume 8 of the All-New All-Different Avengers series. Its plot intertwines with the Marvel event Avengers: Standoff!: in the secret town of Pleasant Hill, S.H.I.E.L.D. uses Kobik, a little girl formed from a Cosmic Cube fragment, to mentally recondition captured super villains. The Avengers and Uncanny Avengers squads are trapped there, collectively hypnotized, their memories and uniforms stripped, heroes and villains indistinguishable. Quicksilver ferries everyone out in batches at the critical moment, with Synapse maintaining the team's psychic link; the two "Maria Hills" who appear are actually the villains Bloodsport and Mindblast. Kobik panics as the situation spirals out of control, and Pleasant Hill's villains awaken one after another to besiege the heroes. The only person who can still communicate with Kobik is Deadpool, Wade Wilson, whose own experience helps the bewildered girl regain her resolve and restore the heroes' powers and equipment. Finally, Kamala Khan receives a call from Steve Rogers—"Avengers assemble." This is Volume 8 of the series, part of the "Standoff" crossover event, and must be read alongside other titles.
