Eternal Divine Emperor

Eternal Divine Emperor is an Eastern fantasy novel by web author Can Shang (real name Xu Geng). It began serialization on 17K.com in May 2014, was featured on the site's homepage cover recommendations that June, runs to about 2.2 million characters and 668 chapters, and was completed in April 2015. The novel's core concept is "divine power": this is a vast world where cultivation of divine power is fundamental, divine powers are infinitely varied and endlessly proliferating, and only those who master the supreme divine power can set foot on the ultimate great path. "The emperor falls, the star river dims, ten thousand ages are stilled; through primordial cycles, the great path endures vicissitudes"—the work opens on this vast, desolate note and tells of a low-born youth who, in circumstances no one thinks promising, inherits an eternal and imperishable will, breaks through the shackles of fate and reincarnation step by step, and rises from an ascetic in a border town to the grand stages of sect trials and continental contention, ultimately saving the eternal great path in the final showdown on the Xuanling Continent and attaining the position of Divine Emperor. The main plot advances through classic fantasy units—the Qingjian Sect outer-disciple examination, the inner-disciple tournament, training in the Tong Shen Tower, and the Hundred Sects Tournament—with a brisk pace, a clear leveling-up line, and both heated battles and sect human drama. It is one of the representative long works in 17K.com's Eastern fantasy section.
