Summary
Superboy Vol. 31 was published on May 14, 2014, as an issue of the DC "New 52" series Superboy (2011), written by Aaron Kuder, with interior art by Jorge Jiménez and cover by Karl Kerschl. The protagonist of this issue is Jon Lane Kent, the son of Superman (Clark Kent) and Lois Lane in an alternate timeline. He suffers from a serious illness caused by a genetic defect and was raised by the villain Harvest, long indoctrinated with the belief that super-powered beings will destroy the world. In this issue, Jon returns to the contemporary DC Universe and tries to remake this world into a society without super-powered beings; his hands are stained with blood, murderous intent has taken root in his heart, and he begins searching for a cure for his fatal genetic disease. Another thread of the story revolves around characters such as Guardian and Parasite. For writer Kuder, this issue is an important step in Jon Lane Kent's path toward redemption and self-reconciliation.
Editor's review
