This is the fourth volume in the Chinese Marvel comics collection series, covering the first half of the "Ninth Generation" storyline from the 2015 Marvel event Secret Wars. In the main Secret Wars narrative, the multiverse collapses through a series of "incursions," leaving only the Marvel main universe (Earth-616) and the Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610). After the two worlds collide, Doctor Doom, using the power of the Beyonders, pieces together a patchwork planet from fragments of the destroyed worlds — Battleworld. He declares himself God Emperor over Battleworld, with regions ruled by appointed barons, a corps of Thors maintaining order, and Doctor Strange serving as "Sheriff of Agamotto" to patrol the domains on his behalf. The first half lays out the rules and structure of this new world: how Battleworld was assembled, how the domains check one another, and how heroes and villains who survived the wreckage of their universes are drawn into it. Familiar faces appear in unexpected identities and forms, old grievances ferment anew under the new power structure, setting the stage for the conflicts of the second half.
