Breach Vol. 2

Breach Vol. 2 is the second issue of DC's 2005 sci-fi superhero series, written by Bob Harras (writer of The Avengers) with art by Marcos Martin and Alvaro Lopez. This volume continues the story from the first issue: the protagonist is Tim Zanetti, a comrade and colleague of U.S. Army Major Tim Porter. He was transformed in an accident during a military cross-dimensional experiment called Project Otherside, losing decades of years and most of his humanity to become the being known as Breach. Upon waking, he must confront the reality that he is no longer human: everything familiar to him is gone, his touch brings fatal consequences, and more than twenty years have passed. In this volume, a mysterious rift in space-time appears on the African plains, and something—or someone—is coming through it, seemingly resonating with Breach's own existence. The military still tries to control him as a dangerous weapon, while Breach himself struggles to understand the powers he has gained and the price in memories each use demands. The main storyline revolves around the threat of extra-dimensional invasion, the truth the military conceals, and the protagonist's struggle with his remaining humanity, balancing traditional science fiction with inner character drama. This is volume 2 of the series.
