主万

Zhu Wan is a translator in the Chinese-language book world. Public information about him is limited, and no clear record exists of his dates of birth and death, nationality, or educational background. Judging from the thirteen works held in the library, his translation work centers on foreign literary classics, most notably several editions of Nabokov's Lolita, including an annotated edition and a guided collector's edition, which suggests that his translation has withstood repeated revision and close reading. He has also translated The Chronicles of Barsetshire volumes Barchester Towers and The Warden, as well as The Postman Always Rings Twice, and contributed to the first series of the Nabokov Collected Works. His translations fall mainly under foreign literature and world classics, balancing the style of the originals with readable Chinese, and offer readers a reliable Chinese text for understanding twentieth-century Western fiction.
