Tremble World

Trembling World is a long-form sci-fi apocalypse novel by the web author Obiye, serialized on Qidian Chinese Network and now completed, totaling approximately 2.91 million characters. The story begins when the virtual reality game of the same name, Trembling World, goes wrong the moment it launches: hundreds of thousands of players are trapped inside the system, and the boundary between reality and the virtual collapses. The protagonist, Liu Qian, is a quadruple amputee. His mother left home when he was six, and in searching for traces of her he traveled across the world, developing wilderness survival and parkour skills—until, while climbing Mount Everest, he was sabotaged by his younger brother Liu Kun, who took his sleeping bag and caused his limbs to necrotize, leaving him dependent on high-tech alloy prosthetics. Armed with this "accidental cheat," Liu Qian survives and fights in a game world turned post-apocalyptic wasteland, gradually becoming one of its most powerful beings. But as he explores deeper, he comes to realize that Trembling World is not merely a game—behind the trapped players, the prosthetic misidentification, and the apocalyptic visions lies another truth. Blending post-apocalyptic survival, virtual gaming, and sci-fi suspense, the work is tightly paced and packed with combat scenes, and stands as one of the author's representative works.
