The Mighty Lord

The Mighty Lord is a long game-world fantasy web novel by Dashi Qing Liubu, a contracted author on Qidian.com. It was completed on April 30, 2016, running about 6.035 million characters over more than 1,200 chapters. At the opening, the game-loving protagonist Zhou Tian is accidentally electrocuted while playing and transmigrates into the game world he often plays, possessing the body of the lowest-level wild monster, a "beast slave." He soon discovers that this world is not a program running to a script but a living battlefield with its own logic, where monsters and NPCs contend for dominance: wild monsters are not only hunted in droves by players as experience fodder but also face cleanup campaigns by NPC armies. Facing player hunts and NPC encirclement, Zhou Tian does not flee; instead he hides among the beast slaves, conceals his identity, and, relying on his familiarity with game rules and the flexibility of human thinking, rises step by step through battle merits and schemes: from beast slave to half-orc warrior, half-orc champion, and finally half-orc commander, gaining his own territory and authority. Thereafter his goal shifts from "survive" to "build a domain": swallowing neighboring weak monster tribes, negotiating an alliance with the Skeleton King, fighting forces such as the Undead Lord and the Blood Moon Cult, and maneuvering between player guilds and NPC factions. The declaration "One day I will trample the system underfoot and drive those loathsome players out of my territory" runs throughout the book, which uses a reverse perspective to tell the rise of a lowly monster against players and system rules, blending otherworld war, domain management, species evolution, and strategic maneuvering—a typical game-world leveling power-fantasy novel.
