Overlord of Martial Arts: Soaring to the Heavens

Overlord of Martial Arts: Soaring to the Heavens is a long Eastern fantasy novel by the web author Sometimes a Bit Wicked, serialized on Qidian since 2014 and now complete at roughly 2.02 million Chinese characters. The story is set on the Tianqian Continent, a world of countless sects where martial arts reign supreme: martial artists take innate divine powers as their root and martial souls as their spirit, advancing level by level from the Qi Martial, Spirit Martial, Mystic Martial and Heaven Martial realms up to the Venerable Martial realm and beyond, to the Emperor and Sage realms. The protagonist, Chu Yang, is a youth from the Chu family of Donglin Town, known in his household as the "Third Young Master," and possesses three innate divine powers, making him a prodigy of extraordinary talent. Starting from the test stele in the training grounds, he fights men and contends with heaven itself, surging forward through sect conflicts, duels sworn on the life-and-death platform, kingdom rivalries and the Holy Academy selection, constantly breaking his own limits and forging his own supreme martial path. The book's main threads are the young hero's rise, fast-paced leveling and passionate duels, with family grudges, sect rivalries and bonds of loyalty and affection woven in; the style is blunt and exhilarating, a typical male-oriented fantasy "face-slapping and leveling" power fantasy. The strong dominate the world with martial might, their bold spirit trampling blood as they vow to soar to the heavens—the title itself sets the tone of "dominating by martial power and rising above the nine heavens."
