Zero Type

Zero Type is a science fiction mystery novel by the web author Nothing Better to Do Than Daydream, serialized on Zongheng Chinese Network and other platforms from May 2015 and completed in 2016, totaling 395 chapters and about 1.21 million characters. Set against the vast backdrop of interstellar civilization, the story pits human factions against one another among the stars, with long-standing grievances between veterans and the arrogant "Glorious Nobles." The protagonist Li Tuo appears during a mission and is gradually drawn into larger fleet conflicts and civilizational maneuvering: a crew bearing gold-painted warships seeks to overturn the old order and reclaim power and wealth from the nobles; meanwhile, a star-system crisis triggered by unknown forces, a struggle over the legacy of an ancient race, and the factional confrontation of the "Sky Realm Oath" unfold in succession, with technological puzzles and the schemes of multiple powers interwoven into a grand multi-faction contest. The work builds settings in which soul-power drives warships and the "Zero Type" device connects dreams, blending mecha and starship combat with mystery-solving. The later chapters conclude with the "Conquest" campaign series, presenting the male lead contending among the stars and gradually ruling a domain—one of the more representative interstellar long-form works on Zongheng Chinese Network in the mid-2010s.
