Iron Man (2012) is the fifth volume of Marvel's Iron Man, relaunched under the Marvel NOW! initiative, written by Kieron Gillen with Greg Land on pencils, following The Invincible Iron Man. This is issue #7 of the series, part 2 of the three-part arc "The Godkiller" (issues #6–8). Picking up from the previous issue: Tony Stark, vacationing in space, has been arrested by an alien race connected to the Shi'ar Empire, who accuse the Earthman of killing their god—a "god" that is in fact the Phoenix Force. Held light-years from home and facing execution, Tony is forcibly stripped of his armor in this issue and must fight bizarre alien beasts hand-to-hand in an arena to survive. Meanwhile, an ancient alien machine called Recorder 451 arrives, claiming it can help him, offering background information and an escape plan, and becomes the issue's focal point. Greg Land's art and the color team make the alien tribunal site, the "Voldi's Tears," suitably spectacular, and a final twist revives an old character while raising the stakes for the next issue's conclusion. This is a single issue (about 23 pages), not a collected edition.
