Iron Man Vol. 5 is the main Iron Man series launched after Marvel's "Marvel NOW!" relaunch, written by British writer Kieron Gillen and published from November 2012 to 2014, with 28 issues in total. The volume follows the situation after The Invincible Iron Man: the deadly techno-virus "Extremis" has resurfaced, and Tony Stark must track down its source while rebuilding his armor and his beliefs. This is issue No. 15, the third part of "The Best Offense" within the larger "The Secret Origin of Tony Stark" arc. In this stretch of the story, Tony faces the mysterious alien Recorder "451" at the edge of the universe while also dealing with a robot that can take over his armor at any moment and a bounty hunter said to be the strongest in the cosmos. The giant weapon "Godkiller" is heading straight for Earth, and Tony must make an almost impossible choice between two worlds; meanwhile, the hidden truth about his birth is being peeled back layer by layer. This is Iron Man Vol. 5 issue No. 15, a single-issue story rather than a complete arc, and it is best read together with issues No. 9 through No. 17.
