The Descent of the Evil God

The Descent of the Evil God is an otherworld-continent web novel by Xueye Dulang, serialized on 17K.com starting in January 2013 and completed on October 27 of that year with Chapter 749, "Their Legend." The book runs about 2.36 million characters. The story begins with Li Xie, a young man from Earth: while scavenging he obtains A Collection of Master Mian's Sayings, and through a deal involving a deity he loses a drop of blood, becoming the lowest-order vampire; then a machine falls on him and he arrives in the otherworld "Continent of the Gods." New to the otherworld, he embarrasses himself by fainting at the sight of blood, yet accidentally triggers black smoke that frightens off a rat tide, and local villagers and knights mistake him for a legendary summoner, even believing a god possesses him. This misunderstanding becomes his foothold in the otherworld: he simply plays along, and the identity of "holy fraud" is born. On the Continent of the Gods, Li Xie moves among human nobles, dragons, orcs, elves, and other powers, using vampire abilities and cunning to amass wealth, tame magic pets, and run an army, gradually earning titles such as "Gold Coin Harvester," "Evil Duke," "Noble Butcher," and "Greatest Holy Fraud in History," while step by step uncovering the secret of the gods' fall. The book is about power struggles, racial conflict, and underdog rise, with a tone of black humor.
