Dao God

Dao God is a long Eastern fantasy novel by the web author Lingluan de Xiaodao, who also wrote Imperial Dao Supreme. It began serialization on web platforms around 2013. The story opens with a sword prodigy who, sword in hand, storms the ninth heaven and wreaks havoc in the Purple Star Holy Land, only to be suppressed by a peerless powerhouse beneath Divine Sword Mountain, enduring the agony of ten thousand swords piercing his heart day and night. He is later reborn as Ling Dao, heir of the Carefree Prince, frail because of countless sword qi lingering in his body and regarded as a good-for-nothing who cannot cultivate; by chance he masters the peerless art Wild Desolation Immortal-Slaying Force, and from then on seeks the Dao with his sword, rising against all odds. The novel follows Ling Dao's growth, unfolding a vast realm system from the Body Realm, True Qi Realm, and Soaring Heaven Realm up to Heavenly Venerable, Sage King, Dao Lord, and Great Emperor, and spreading from the lower world to the heavenly realms and the contests of many domains, interweaving brotherhood, romantic bonds, and conflicts among sects, dynasties, and the powers of the heavens. The book is expansive in length, with face-slapping reversals, battles across realms, and impassioned declarations as its main thrills; the language is direct and exhilarating, a typical male-oriented fantasy of the grassroots rising to power. As of 2026 the work is still ongoing, totaling about seven million characters and more than two thousand chapters.
