King of Creation

The King of Creation is a long-form Eastern fantasy novel by Zhu Sanbu, a top author on China Literature's Yuewen platform. Serialized on Qidian.com starting in June 2014, the completed novel spans approximately 9.84 million Chinese characters across 3,519 chapters and is available under a VIP subscription model. The story begins with a strange transformation in the young Ye Zhen: overnight, he discovers he can understand the seemingly meaningless sounds of insects and beasts in the mountains. The squeaking of rats tells him that a rare treasure capable of dramatically enlarging living creatures is about to drip from the back mountain; the buzzing of mosquitoes discusses passersby; even the roar of a juvenile cloud-winged tiger becomes a warning: "Don't come closer." A mere menial disciple of the Qiyun Sect in the Black Water Kingdom, bullied by all, Ye Zhen uses this ability to embark on a path of treasure hunting, foundational cultivation, and advancement—from sect tournaments to dynastic warfare, sect power struggles, and the broader primordial world, matching wits and courage against formidable foes, and ultimately arriving at a confrontation over the cosmic order with the Dao Ancestors of the Heavenly Temple. The novel's main draws are its brisk underdog-reversal rhythm, a sense of progression that advances steadily without ever skipping tiers, exhilarating combat, and humorous banter, interwoven with the bonds between the young hero and Caiyi as well as his monster companions. It stands as one of the more acclaimed and commercially successful long-form works in Qidian's Eastern fantasy genre. This entry is compiled from Qidian.com and encyclopedia sources.
