Shaman King, Volume 2

This is Volume 2 of the series, subtitled "Storm Shaman." The story continues the training and growth of Yoh Asakura: shamans, who can connect this world with the next, set out on a journey to become the Shaman King. Yoh has previously subdued the samurai ghost Amidamaru, and as the existence of his "guardian spirit" becomes known to other shamans, challengers come one after another to seize Amidamaru, and Yoh answers them one by one with the strength gained through training. Meanwhile, Yoh's life as a shaman unfolds: his relationships with Manta Oyamada, Ryu of the Wooden Sword, and others develop, and the atmosphere of the Shaman Fight draws ever nearer. This volume collects Chapter 9, "Shaman King," through Chapter 17, "The White Dragon's Path to the Missile Way," with chapters such as "Storm Shaman," "A Shaman's Life," "Kung Fu Superstar," "Corpse Puppet," "Run, Manta," and "Invocation" advancing character introductions and battle setups. Due to edition differences, the chapter ranges in some Hong Kong and Taiwan singles differ slightly; the above follows common table-of-contents sources.
