Super God System

Super God System is an urban supernatural-powers novel by web author Chong 2, serialized on Qidian from November 5, 2012 to March 28, 2014. It runs about 2.64 million Chinese characters across 733 chapters, the final one titled "The Secret of the Immortal Realm." The protagonist, Mu You, is an ordinary down-on-his-luck young man in Lin'an. After quitting his job and returning to his rented room, he is struck by a splitting headache and hears an electronic voice in his head telling him that his mental strength meets the requirements and that installation of the Super God System is beginning. Once installed, the system grants him a talent subsystem; his initial mental strength is 13/13, and the first available subsystem is the "Sky Eye System," which lets him see through matter within a certain range at the cost of mental strength with each use. Mu You tests it at an underground casino by seeing through dice and wins his first pot of money. From then on he earns points by completing system-issued quests, gradually unlocking subsystems for appraisal, pet training, herb cultivation, future technology, and more, steadily raising his mental strength and abilities. The book is grounded in urban life and weaves in gambling on raw jade, islands, street sorcerers, and exotic beasts, while the main plot expands to conflicts with international forces, contact with alien civilizations, and battles on interstellar fronts, finally closing on the exploration of the "Thirty-Three Heavens" and the secrets of the immortal realm. It is an early example of the system-flow web novel, with a single female lead, a brisk pace, and the wish-fulfillment formula of face-slapping power-ups and playing the fool to devour the tiger.
