Myriad Worlds

All Heavens and Myriad Realms is a fantasy novel set in an alternate world, serialized on the 17K website by web novelist Shrimp XL since April 20, 2014, spanning approximately 5.89 million Chinese characters. The story unfolds in a grand universe where the Hundred Schools of Thought flourish alongside demons, gods, and sages. Xu Daoyan, a peasant youth born with the "Ancient Seed," was entrusted by his father to a rural village in infancy and raised solely by his mother. As an orphaned pair, they endured years of gossip and censure from their neighbors. When the Xiongnu invade and his village is brutally destroyed, he joins the army to defend his homeland, embarking on a long quest for power. As his origins come to light, the intricate web of connections behind his father thrusts Xu Daoyan into the eye of the storm—condemned by the masses and hunted by countless enemies, yet he remains steadfast in clearing his name. On his path of cultivation, he draws on the strengths of multiple schools: mastering Daoist arts of subduing demons and vanquishing evil, learning Militaryist divine weapons and battle formations, and cultivating the Confucian spirit of noble righteousness—until a single talisman can suppress mighty ghosts and gods, a single blade can sever mountains, rivers, the sun, and the moon, and a single formation can trap an ancient dragon god for eternity, while his strategic brilliance commands thousands of troops. Meanwhile, he becomes entangled in complex loves and hatreds with the peerless daughters of the Hundred Schools and of the demon, devil, god, and sage factions. He befriends companions such as Tian Tian, Bai Yan'er, Shi Man, Yun Wu, Yuan Bao, and Wu Xiaobai, rising step by step through repeated turmoil. Ultimately, with the power of one man, he seeks the true nature of heaven and earth, embarking on the path of seeking the Dao where "all heavenly gods and sages lie beneath his feet, and all evil bows its head."
